A look at my frog collectibles as I get them and my wacky world in the meantime.
The thing I hate about buying a new phone is spending the time putting in the speed dial numbers. I mean who gets top billing, who gets knocked down the list - it's all very stressful!
Well I made it to Walmart this morning and finally got a new radio. And it was such a lovely day out I decided to stop for breakfast. The Frog Wrangler was not pleased with the amount of time that I was away from the toad abode - oh, another treat - she's got that look in her eye - kinda like the fly catcher so I better go!
Sunday and a day to relax. The Frog Wrangler has already found her way to her favorite spot for a mid-morning nap - and that sounds like a great idea. Enjoy today's frog and then go take a nap and relax!
The weekend is here and triple coupons at the grocery store - The Frog Wrangler is in charge for the rest of the day because I'm going shopping!
The Frog Wrangler is out getting an early start on the Chinese New Year - the whole year of the dog has kind of gone to her head. So in her place today is a friends poodle, Emily. As you can see, Emily has has just gotten clipped for the coming festivities. I just don't know if the reverse mohawk is in - I mean it's so 70's!
Candy and frogs! Now that sounds like a song title. I went to CVS yesterday and found this little Valentine heart candy box from Elmer Candy. It has 4 pieces of chocolate inside. It's got me hoppin!
It's not to early to be thinking of what to do for Valentine's Day. I like chocolates, but froggies are better!
I received a gift of new pillow yesterday - and overslept this morning! Very comfortable indeed.
Today is statistically the most depressing day of the year (according to CNN report), so I thought today would be a good day for a laugh - and a frog in a rabbit suit is certainly cause for at least a chuckle!
It's a dark day here at Frog Central - good thing the frogs have a lamp to hang around.
I love listening to NPR on the weekends. It gets you all caught up on the news and gives you a chance to laugh a little too.
Saturday and the Frog Wrangler slept in this morning - always a good thing! Having been spoiled by temperatures in the 60's, it was a shock to the system to open the door and feel the 30's hit you in the face. It's a wonder that everyone isn't sick with this crazy up and down weather.
It's been a tough day of Frog Wrangling for the Wrangler. Sorry about the quality of the photo but I didn't want to disturb her. She's in her favorite chair, on her favorite afghan, doing her favorite thing - sleeping. Here's hoping you have just as quiet a weekend too.
Rubber Froggie, your the one
I like all my froggies here at Frog Central. But if you are buying one that is a collectible, be sure you know what you are getting. Billed as an Artesania Rinconada - a highly collectible piece that are handcrafted in Uruguay. The pieces are hand carved from a flat mold, then hand-painted and fired in several complex processes. They are decorated with real gold and platinum accents. This may look like one, but it is not. It does not have the smooth glass-like glazing that you see on the Artesania pieces. And of course, the made in China sticker on the bottom is also a dead give away. It is important to do your research and become familiar with highly collectible items so as not to be fooled. Some fakes are really good - this one was not. I received it as a gift and it will go on my shelf as one of my treasured frogs.
It's another day of waiting for the ice to melt - unfortunately it's not supposed to warm up until tomorrow. Oh well, it's nice to have a day inside with the Frog Wrangler.
Another day of rain. I have found out that it is a good thing that I did not store a lot of things in the basement - it's a tad damp down there. The Frog Wrangler has been happy with all the towelling off she's been getting after coming back inside. I guess it's better than snow - and that's supposed to be this afternoon with some accumulation. This indeed has been a freaky winter.
Monday, Monday - isn't that how the song goes? Thank goodness I have a little frog angel keeping an eye on me!
Sunday is supposed to be the day of rest, but a half-hour at the grocery store and slipping and sliding on all the ice sure has got me worn out! I guess I should have waited until this afternoon to go because it's supposed to be in the 50's today - but have you ever gone shopping on a Sunday afternoon. It's a brutal thing!
Wow, did I oversleep today! Now it'll be rush, rush, rush all day to try and catch up. Oh well, guess I'll just grab the Frog Wrangler and go out and play - we're a regular Fric & Frac!
It's a rainy day here at Frog Central. The Frog Wrangler used to hate the rain so bad that she would hold it rather than go outside. Then one day, after a full day of rain she could hold it no longer and rain out to do her business and came back in soaking wet. So I brought out a towel and gave her a good rub down to dry her off. That was the incentive she needed! She turned right around and wanted to go back out so she could get another rub down with the towel. About two days later when it finally stopped raining she came running back inside and I went into the other room only to have her following me with the towel in her mouth and I could just imagine her saying "Hey, you forgot something!"
It seems everyone I know is either on their way to or coming back from Hawaii. Look who just hopped in. I'm starting to get a little bit jealous!
It's going to be another warm day here at Frog Central - they're calling for 60 degrees. It's been a crazy winter! But let's hope it continues to be just as crazy. . .
Sometimes you just want to party!
I know the photo is bad today - it's a rainy day here and 50 pics later, this was the best one! The froggies love the rain and hopping around in the mud - the Frog Wrangler, not so much.
It was 71 degrees here yesterday at Frog Central - broke all kinds of records. I got a lot of questions about the real age test I took yesterday - let's just say they say I'm a lot older. What was that song that went around there for a while - I'm my own grandpa!
I got suckered today into doing one of those on-line tests to figure out your real age. Something I didn't really need to know! We all hope to find out we're younger but that's not the way it always works out!
The weekend is finally here! I'm spending the day writing letters and paying bills furiously to use up the last of my 37 cent stamps - remember the price goes up tomorrow!

The Frog Wrangler has had a tough couple of weeks. The holidays really wore her out - although she really loves her present of homemade treats! Wednesday was a long 13 1/2 hours on the road from Frog East back to Frog Central - and although she may be tired, one of her favorite toys is nearby and within easy reach.
It is so good to be home and back to blogging - I missed my froggies! So today I plan on finishing the unpacking of the car and bringing in all the cute little frogs that are being added to the collection!
