Batteries
It seems like everything uses batteries and even though you have a stockpile the size of a small mountain, when a battery goes dead, the size you need is not in the stockpile. I took out my camera this morning to take a picture of a frog and the batteries are dead. So things will have to wait until the next week when I can get to the supermarket.
Gertie is settling in well. She sleeps through the night which is fantastic. A lot of trips out during the day, but I've got a spot where I can sit while she romps the yard, trying to keep an eye on everything that's going on. Last night I was watching The Ten Commandments on and off - I've seen the movie a hundred times and so a couple times I switched away for a bit to catch parts of other showws and invariably switched back. At one point a dog is barking. Gertie got all excited and ran up to me and settled on the arm of the chair and spent the next hour watching television with me. It made me laugh and I couldn't help but compare that reaction to what Shadow's would have been - total indifference. So I told you Friday that I questioned the animal control officers sanity when he said she was two months old - well yesterday she lost a baby tooth while chewing on her rawhide - which means she's at least 4 months old. The vet should be able to give me a better determination this next week. We're just having lots of fun and I'm glad I saved her from being put down by animal control.
Oh, and Happy Easter!
